2006
The symposia has each year a specific theme connected to the cultural history of the region. In 2006 the theme was ‘Still Water’. Based on the dramatic history of the Oranjekanaal (Orangecanal) digged with enormous efforts in the nineteenth century for the use of the peatindustry and never functioned as it was foreseen.
Other Years
- In 2005 it was the old legend of Ellert and Brammert.
- In 2007 the theme will be based on the history of the greening of the region with millions of trees. First with pines used for the coalmines and later with other kind of trees too consolidate the quick sands. This process was executed for a good deal by unemployed people. Especially in the years after World Ware One and it ended almost in 1960.
Application
Artists interested in participation at future art-in-nature symposia are invited to apply by sending documentation and cv. After consideration they will eventually added to the list of potential participants and will get all the information with a demand for a proposal. Invitation for participation is based on the documentation and a concrete proposal. There is no deadline, application is on going.
